Some issues

Post by HALF »

While it's the best torrent client there are some issues that i just hate sometimes.
- If there are two torrents and I decide to stop one of them so the other finishes faster, both torrents stop downloading and uploading, the remaining active torrent continues to download but after a while - sometimes 2-3 minutes. To fix this sooner i have to restart transmission and start the torrent again.
- if i add a torrent that has many files - for example 30 files each 300-400mb the UI becomes unresponsible for 3-4-5 minutes (i suppose until the space is allocated to the disk)
- if i download many files with fast connection there are far more disk writes/reads in my opinion - the entire system starts to work slower until the download finishes or is stopped ( i download with 1-1.5Mb per second)
-there is no way to exit/stop the program faster if there are many programs sometimes i have to wait up to a minute just for this program to close so I can shutdown the computer(i don't want to kill the proccess). I believe in linux there was a button that appeared when you tried to close the torrent saying "close now(don't wait)"

I will test the nightly build and update the post accordingly.

Just pause the torrent individually (there's a || button besides each torrent), the other one should continue.

This was a long while ago, but I've added torrents with over 200 files and I never had issues with Transmission or the OS. How much room do you have left in the computer? You could probably also check the hard disk to see if the disk has some sort of error?

You should probably check your hard disk, altho there's a thread somewhere about people saying that they had slowdowns (you'd have to search for that), I don't know the verdict on that.

No. Transmission sometimes closes very fast, sometimes it takes a bit; this is because it has to close properly the connections. It shouldn't take that long, tho, less than a minute or somewhere around there.

You should probably also report what OS you're using, and yes, you should try the latest Nightly Build; you never said which build you were using when you experienced that problem.
