Restricted Peer numbers & Download Speed with new version???

I have found that the newest version of transmission will not go above around 65 peers.... is this deliberate on the part of the builders?
if so why? it slows my download speeds and makes it harder to connect (& stay) at a higher rate... it continually drops out!

if anyone else has noticed this problem please let me hear your woes...

Have you looked at the "max number of connected peers" fields? Setting these too high will kill your connection/bog down your computer.

yeah, i've put the peer limits up and down and they just continue to sit at around 60ish.
i obviously don't drop it below 60, but the previous version had no problems, it would have up to 300 peers sometimes and run fine.
