Need to toggle firewall after 10.5.8

I have noticed that after installing 10.5.8 the port I have forwarded is closed unless I toggle the firewall on or off. It works again with the firewall either on or off, it just needs to be changed. Weird. I have the latest 1.74 version of Transmission.
