Transmission 1.75/1.76 Freezing

I've recently had a problem with Transmission. I keep finding it frozen in the midst of operation. Mousing over the transmission windows results in a spinning beach ball. The finder clock in the menu bar is frozen at the time Transmission froze. I can change between programs beside Transmission, and can even other programs. However, I have to hard restart the Mini in order to get it to restart. The only other thing I've noticed is that I am running Indigo (home automation software), and when this happens I get a caution that the Indigo server has shutdown or is no longer accessible. I'm running 10.5.8 on this computer, and have tried both 1.75 and 1.76. I tried removing and then reinstalling 1.75 and that got me a couple of days of operation before locking up again.
