Use this version with an older Mac?

I tried to use the old Mac version for PPC, but it's not working. I wondered if, since I really like Transmission on my Linux laptop I might be able to use the GTK version on my wife's G5, since the underlying support for it all is BSD. Probably a 
dumb idea, but I thoughtmaybe one of y'all will have some inspiration; she always has to come to me to get stuff.
