resetting password, how?

Hi all

I'm running transmission through netgear readynas duo and the client is 1.82light. On the computer I have win 7 x64. The problem is that I changed my computer and
forgot the password as I tried to log on through the new one.
I did try to change the password inside the settings.json and after that I even can't start the client anymore it just keeps loading without reaching logon (just blank).

Anyone know how to approach this and be able to logon again???

Start transmission in cli with the -u username -v password and se if that works
"transmission-daemon -u username -v password"
