Transmission Tiger Not Responding

Hi. Unfortunately, I cannot get to my Transmission because it's not responding. It just sits in the dock as if it was closed. When I force quit, I get that it's not responding. I don't know what my version is because i cannot get to it or else I would include that with this post.

I have Tiger and I haven't been able to upgrade in a while because all the newer versions aren't compatible w/ anything but Leopard.

Any suggestions?
