Actually, after reading your reply, went back and found this https://trac.transmissionbt.com/ticket/671. It looks like there is a patch submitted only 3 days ago, but with no description how can we test it?

can you please point me to the right parameter to change/set in settings.json in order to set the maximum number of concurrent downloads? I see on https://trac.transmissionbt.com/wiki/ConfigurationParameters a parameter called open-file-limit but I'm not sure this is the correct one to ...

can please somebody confirm that when using a front-end to Transmission (i.e. such as transmisson-remote-gui) the "Incoming port" you specify in the settings should be redirected from the router to the machine running the Transmission daemon an not from the router to the machine running the ...
