Actually, after reading your reply, went back and found this https://trac.transmissionbt.com/ticket/671. It looks like there is a patch submitted only 3 days ago, but with no description how can we test it?

can you please point me to the right parameter to change/set in settings.json in order to set the maximum number of concurrent downloads? I see on https://trac.transmissionbt.com/wiki/ConfigurationParameters a parameter called open-file-limit but I'm not sure this is the correct one to ...
