Transfers Prefs - using "Call script"
I just saw there is a preference option in Management to "Call script: when download completes." I currently have transmission set to download all torrents to a large external usb drive, then I manually copy any file to the smaller and faster main drive for use. I would like to make a script that ...

Re: Using Call Script
Thanks very much for the reply x190. I tied changing the download location and incomplete location, but it did not work like I had hoped. I will move the post to general as suggested.

Using Call Script
I just saw there is a preference option in Management to "Call script: when download completes." I would like to make a script that simply tells transmission to copy the downloaded file to my main hard drive into a specific folder. How do I get more information on how to make this happen? Can I make ...

Re: A single peer to peer torrent, noob help please
Thank you very much Rolcol, that takes care of the tracker situation. Excellent info as well, it's all starting to make sense, much appreciated! I'm going to try it later but I have a feeling my Airport will now be the only thing keeping this from working. I have tried looking for the NAT prefs ...

A single peer to peer torrent, noob help please
Hello,
I have been reading up on this but as a noob, I am still confused. I want to transfer some raw video footage I shot (7 GB of files) to my friend, but it is too large to transfer over iChat (which would make it very easy).
So I tried creating a torrent in Transmission but am still stumped on ...

Re: Transmission quitting randomly
I think I was downloading the wrong version. Went to the homepage and downloaded from there instead of the nightly and now everything is back up and running.
Thanks all and I promise to try not to be this dumb in the future.

Re: Transmission quitting randomly
Also, I tried downloading the latest beta to see if it have been fixed but got this error on opening:
"You cannot use the application "Transmission" with this version of Mac OS X."
Must be an intel only release?

Re: Transmission quitting randomly
I'm having a similar problem all the sudden (running 10.4.11 on G5). Couldn't have anything to do with the file size since I have been running smoothly for a good month with consistent sizes of torrents (and haven't started a new torrent in some time, just seeding right now).

Re: setting up firewall and little snitch for transmission
I found this information for little snitch on their support site for use with Azureus, which I assume would be comparable rules for use with transmission:
"I have 4 rules. udp/tcp are separated as I've noticed I still get connection attempts with ANY rule type.

setting up firewall and little snitch for transmission
Ok, I've been using transmission for a few weeks now successfully but without setting up my firewall and having LS 2 turned off. I did some searching and cannot find what ports or protocols should be opened for transmission. I did see someone suggest setting up LS to give transmission complete ...
