If you are observing the "red" light (port closed) in the preferences, then perhaps this thread will help: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=14255
Try canyouseeme.org for the port test, worked for me.

Re: http://portcheck.transmissionbt.com
Whew!
Now I can stop trying this and that on my router (Airport Express [5th Gen]) that I got for Christmas.
Now I can go to bed before 3am (messing with the router could not start until family went to bed).
Now I know that my seeding/leeching can be (is) shared.

Re: Is my port really closed?
I have the same problem, seemingly, but I am on 10.6.8 with a new Airport Extreme set to the same profile as my old Airport Extreme.
As posted in this thread, the log says that the port was successfully opened, but the preferences pane show that the port is closed.

2.30b2 (12339) crashes deleting trackers
Here are the circumstances:
I delete tracker website that are not responding or have nothing to add to a download and Transmission crashes (my old terminology: Abends).
It is intermittent as it does not happen every time I do this.
I tried deleting one at a time, and sometimes this works and ...

Re: Another blocklist download problem
Sorry x109, you answer was a bit too criptic for me.

So could you spend just a moment or two more and say more precisely what I should with the ...

Re: Another blocklist download problem
Again to add to my original post, when I say it no long downloads let me say that it no longer downloads within the Transmission Preference panel.
