I don’t know if this is possible already, but it would be nice if it was possible to sort the files under the Files tab in the Inspector. I’m currently downloading a list of about 200 files and the only way to tell which have finished is they turn grey. But it’d be nice to be able to sort on ‘percentage complete‘ to see which files will be finishing next.
(Just a thought)

Sorting in the Inspector
Re: Sorting in the Inspector
A filter by filename/keyword would also be very helpful.
Sometimes I have a very large torrent with a complex file tree but only want to download a single file. It is very difficult to find the file to selectively download it unless you know exactly where it is located. (Similarly this type of option would be useful in the "adding transfer" options window)

I agree that this would be helpful, in fact, it would be exceedingly helpful. As for the files vs. folders thing, you could show the individual file's percent and the folder's (i.e. everything in the folder) percent the same way -- a simple percent. I wouldn't be confused by that, at least.
Re: Sorting in the Inspector
Please add support for this! When downloading many files the parts often overlap onto other files, videos for example are a total pain because to download one video in a movie pack, you often download three videos. The one you wanted to download, the end of the previous one, and the beginning of the next one. :-/ So I'd like to be able to easily find and delete the ones that I didn't intend to download!

The ability to quickly sort based on name [ASC, DESC], Download [ASC, DESC] and Priority [ASC, DESC] would be great. A 4th column for sorting by download % [ASC, DESC] would be out of this world. I've also noticed that the current Inspector (1.91) doesn't seem to sort alphanumeric file names correctly.
I'm seeing the following:

yeah, transmission always displays the files in the order they're listed in the torrent. it always bugs me slightly when some torrent has the files out of order, but i wouldn't call it a problem.x190 wrote:Maybe they were ordered this way when the torrent was created?

Re: Sorting in the Inspector
I understand that Transmission is simply displaying the files as they are listed within the torrent, but there might still be a compelling reason to allow the user to sort the inspector based on name, % complete, etc... The same argument might be made for sorting in the file selection window that appears when torrents are loaded.

Re: Sorting in the Inspector
The find feature is great when you've got a torrent of 100 things and you only want a couple. It's especially great when the torrent contents seem to be pretty randomly ordered. But find is not available at initial torrent load, so I've gotten in the habit of unchecking all, starting the torrent, then use the find command on the 'active' torrent to find those few things I want.
File sort is attractive, as is ability to use the find command when initially starting a torrent.
