This looks really cool!

Until it gets through the review process, I have posted up code for remotely adding torrent from your iPhone using a bookmarklet: http://forum.transmissionbt.com/viewtop ... f=8&t=6937

But you know.

an idea that would be money in the bag could be a RSS manager that automaticly downloaded torrents and uploaded them to the server transmission is running on.
Im currently own a NAS that have some problems compiling a working application on any good RSS-parser.
I mean I leave my phone on all night so it can run an app, it might last during a night, I've left apps on before.

Those who jailbreak might want to run this is the background.

I would LOVE to have a RSSparser upload torrents to my headless server.
What about Automatic?

I'd also love to see this released - if Apple won't approve your app, you could put it on the Cydia store for jailbreakers. At least you'd recoup some money for your efforts that way!

Oh this has to be coming out soon! It's almost been a year since the release of the iPhone 3G and the development of iPhone apps in general! We've been patiently waiting for someone to tackle this, and its finally coming! Any news on the development?

Hi All,

Just to let you know I have also created an iPhone app for Transmission.

According to Apple this type application will not be posted! I had a response from Apple this morning:
"We cannot post this version of your application to the App Store at this time because this category of applications is often used for the purpose of infringing third party rights. We have chosen not to publish this type of application to the App Store"

More to come...

That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. As a remote control, this app does not violate any of their guidelines. They are ignoring the many legitimate uses of BitTorrent. I would go to as many publications as possible to get them to do stories on this. Imagine if they had this type of control over what apps could be created for their computers as well.

I know it is absolutely ridiculous.

I was thinking the same thing about the publications as well.

Lets see where this leads....

I have received exactly the same email from Apple, two days ago. It had been in review since december last year!

Yes, the popularity of the iPhone combined with the DRM features of the device have given Apple a lot of power over what people are and aren't allowed to run.
