Maximizing my Uploading Possibilities
Maximizing my Uploading Possibilities
I just uploaded a torrent made with Transmission [1.51] to a torrent site. Once I had verified the local data it told me it was seeding to 0 of 2 peers and when I looked at the peer list on the torrent site it showed the other two users and me as active and connectable, but with 0% completed. I quit Transmission and relaunched and the torrent began to seed at about 50 kb/s. After it got past a ratio of 1 if began to slow down significantly until it stopped completely at a ratio of about 1.11. When I looked at the peer list on the torrent site again it showed that there were about 7 other users who had uploaded as much as three times what I had and I had only uploaded the torrent 10 minutes earlier. Is there something I'm missing here? How can I maximize my uploading potential? Thank you
Re: Maximizing my Uploading Possibilities
I've seen many torrents created with Transmission that have uploaded to thousands of people. Do you have your ports open? Open ports are essential when uploading because it allows peers to connect to you rather than them having to wait until you connect to them.
Re: Maximizing my Uploading Possibilities
My port is open.
