Another closed port problem

Post by JRO »

I can't figure this out.

Tranmission says that my selected port (56000) is closed.
However, I am able to download: currently 1 file from 29 of 32 peers at between 240 - 345 KB/s, on a DSL connection.
My ISP / Router page says that my connection is capable of 800 Kbps.

I'm running Transmission v1.50 (7886) on a Macbook, connected via wireless or ethernet to a Westell 7500 router. I think I've set up Transmission, OSX (10.4.11), and the router properly.
I have enabled UpNP in the router settings.

I ran the debug log twice.
Here is the first report (maybe the downloads were running at the time?):

2009-03-29 23:22:45 -0400 port-forwarding.c:116 [Info] Port Forwarding: Closing port 56000 on ::

Here is the second debug log:

2009-03-29 23:22:45 -0400 port-forwarding.c:116 [Info] Port Forwarding: Closing port 56000 on ::
2009-03-29 23:22:45 -0400 port-forwarding.c:116 [Info] Port Forwarding: Closing port 56000 on 0.0.0.0
2009-03-29 23:22:45 -0400 net.c:580 [Debug] Transmission: Bound socket 11 to port 56000 on ::
2009-03-29 23:22:45 -0400 port-forwarding.c:153 [Info] Port Forwarding: Opened port 56000 on :: to listen for incoming peer connections
2009-03-29 23:22:45 -0400 net.c:580 [Debug] Transmission: Bound socket 12 to port 56000 on 0.0.0.0
2009-03-29 23:22:45 -0400 port-forwarding.c:153 [Info] Port Forwarding: Opened port 56000 on 0.0.0.0 to listen for incoming peer connections

What should I do? Nothing, because Transmission is working?
Thank you for your work, and any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe this will solve it:
http://trac.transmissionbt.com/wiki/PortForwardingGuide (I think your firewall is blocking it so first try that)
http://trac.transmissionbt.com/wiki/PortClosed

(also the search option is your friend, this was even on the first page of topics)
