Transmission hang

Whenever I am downloading a torrent Transmission hangs or responds very slowly. As in I can maybe open it and slowly go threw the windows with around a 1-2 minute delay in my clicks. There is no problem when uploading. As soon as the download is complete it works fine. My download destination is on an external HD connected to my airport extreme. Any ideas?

i have the same problem - and it's def. not a "CPU" problem. i'm also downloading directly to an external HD, connected thru firewire (with internet thru airport). im doing pretty high speeds, up towards 2MB/s. im thinking it has something to do with that - it's as if it's a bottleneck there somewhere, though i suppose the bottleneck is in the writing of transmission, and NOT in the speeds allowed of read/write to my HD.

anyone who knows about this, please let me know? discussion?

He might not be that nice, but your answer doesn't make much sense in this case, hence the hostility.

There has been some people reporting that high IO activity can make transmission unresponsive, and a few potential fixes has been committed. It seems like there have been a bit of problems for some with high dl rates.

Trying out a nightly build can often be a solution.

I'm having exactly the same problem. If I start to get high throughput and my destination is on my external HD, Transmission always crashes after a few minutes.

Running 1.52 on OS X 10.5.6.

my tranmission hangs to so i installed a older version and it works better! im on version 1.3d right now

You can also try to see if a nightly build works better.
