Port Forwarding

Post by nimbus_dude »

Hi

I am new to Transmission and am having difficulty port forwarding. I use a Netgear WPN842v2 Rangemax router and the UPnP is enabled and DMZ is disabled within my routers settings as is suggested by The Transmission Project. When clicking on the automatic port fowarding check box i receive the following message:

2009-04-26 23:08:56 +0100 upnp.c:175 [Info] Port Forwarding (UPnP): Port forwarding through "http://10.0.0.1:80/Public_UPNP_C3", service "urn:schemas-upnp-org:service:WANIPConnection:1". (local address: 10.0.0.2:51413)
2009-04-26 23:08:56 +0100 upnp.c:178 [Info] Port Forwarding (UPnP): Port forwarding successful!
2009-04-26 23:08:56 +0100 port-forwarding.c:101 [Info] Port Forwarding: State changed from "Not forwarded" to "Forwarded"

Although the debug displays a successful message the dot is still red and saying that the ports aren't open.

Can anyone shed any light on this. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Thom

try searching for guides in the in build help, the wiki [ trac.tranmissionbt.com ] or the forums (no the FAQ is not the one) there is one about forwarding your router and one about forwarding your firewall (I think you need this one)
