Missing .resume file for torrents [solved]

Post by Acid_1 »

I am missing a .resume file for one of my torrents (File system error, e2fsck removed it). Is there a possible way to restore/make a new one? It is very time consuming to have to wait 10 minutes to scan an 11GB file to verify if it's there or not every time I restart Transmission. Any help would be nice :)

No, the easiest way is to let Transmission rebuild it.

But why does it have to rescan "every time (you) restart Transmission"? If your hard drive is eating it during every session you have problems much worse than a .resume file... :)

Transmission never rebuilds it. My hard drive ate it once, and it has never re-appeared since. How long does it take to rebuild? I've left Transmission +30 hours and it still hasn't rebuilt... It has to rescan because it defaults to the Desktop when I open Transmission, so I have to add the torrent again, change it to the correct download location, and it has to verify local data. Sorry I didn't mention that.

Do the user running transmission have permissions to write to the transmission config directory?

yup. It's funny. I live a week with the missing .resume file, and as soon as I complain, it proves me wrong and rebuilds itself. :( Oh well, at least it's back.
