hello,
I've noticed lately that every time I add a new .torrent file to Transmission it always stops responding, and then I have to Force Quit and launch the program again (which then will cause it to "check existing data", another seemingly waste of time). I'm running Mac OS X 10.5.7 on my BlackBook [2 GB RAM, 2.4GHz Intel Dual-core].
Advice or a fix in the next update would be greatly appreciated...
Thanks!

Stops responding when I add a new torrent (v 1.72 (8709))

Try the latest nightly build and see if the issue persists, as I am writing this, the latest one is r8804. Maybe, just in case, Repair Permissions as well (Applications > Utilities > Disk Utility > Repair Permissions).

alright Ryoujin i'll try that. and while I'm at it, may I ask what the difference is between a "nightly" build and the normal? My guess is its like a "Beta", but, that's just a guess.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Yes. Transmission has a stable build, and then has nightly builds, which basically are changes they make to the application and after everything is fixed they release it as stable.
Altho they are betas, it's not very common to experience problems with them (they can still happen, tho, and should be used by your own risk). The idea of using them is because the problems that were experienced with the latest stable could have been fixed in one of the nightly builds, if not then they can fix it and people test it. They also get updated a lot.
