Lost Data

Post by andnostar »

I have been downloading a 1.4 gig file overnight. In the morning it reached around 900 mb downloaded. I had a brief, less than 1 minute power outage. When I reconnected and restarted transmission, the inspector shows I have 177 mb. It also shows that I downloaded 895 mb. I did the verify data and it verifies the 177 mb. What has happened to the other 700 mb? Did I ever really have it? Can I get it back if I did? (Torrents are very slow for me because my isp throttles everything)
Thanks

Happened to me too. PC froze solid (Some graphics issues), cold boot, and presto! I had 6.8/11 Gb file downloaded, and then it went down to 2.8, saying I had downloaded 6.8. This would be nice to know why. Thanks :)

I suspect that the majority of your torrent was still cached in memory but it still seems like a lot of data. What OS are you running Transmission on?
