How do I get that console view shown in the screenshot?

Post by gallyjc »

Hi,

I think I have a simple question. I'm trying to open transmission in the console so that it reflects like the image found as screenshot here on this site:

How can I achieve this? Do I need to have curses installed? I'd prefer not to use the WebGUI if possible and instead use the console method.

I already have the following installed and running:

transmission-daemon (I can see the web interface, but like I said I prefer the console)
transmission-remote
transmissioncli

Is there anything else I need to install? If I do need curses installed, is there a good site that instructs on how to do this?

Thanks for the help!

That's the remote control written by fagga. IMO it's much nicer than the old transmission-cli

download link.

So the link provided didn't work but it at least lead me on the right tracks. The link I found is:

Hello guys, I'm really trying to make this Python app. works. I enter command line: transmission-remote-cli.py -c johndoe:secretbirthday@localhost9091, but returns that RPC protocol is not supported...
I'm using Ubuntu 9.04 and Transmission 1.51 which I'm sure to be the last package for this version... Any suggest?

tks
