Port forwarding won't establish

Post by Anhdru »

Hello,

After following the directions in the "Help" section, I still cannot get Transmission's port to open. Here is my setup:

Internet access: via TimeWarner Road Runner, which configures automatically using DCHP.
Network: Apple Airport Extreme, Admin Utility version 4.2
Computer: PowerBook G4 1.5GHz running OS 10.4.11
Version of Transmission: 1.54

Transmission cannot automatically configure the port. I tried doing it manually, using 50001 as my port designation, and added the port both on my laptop (in the Firewall) and on Airport (using Port Mapping). I made the change in Transmission to manually select port 50001. I restarted the base station, restarted Transmission. Port is still closed.

Anyone have any thoughts on this? Thanks much.

By adding the port onto the firewall... I really don't understand that. Did you set the firewall to allow selected programs to connect to internet (and have transmission added to it), or is it at the the default, let the computer decide for itself? If it's not that, could I maybe see a screenshot?

EDIT: oh, does the Port Mapping IP address differ from the one inside the network settings? Since, mine sort of switch around between ending in either, 1,2, or 3.
