v1.74 - WebUI does not connect to peers at private trackers?

Post by harry711 »

I dunno if this is a bug, or just a "PEBCAK" situation, but here it goes:

in the WebUI, using transmission-daemon (I have no GUI on the computer), I can not get any connections. It is not a problem with forwarded ports, nor of clients not being able to seed; it just will not connect to anyone. In the "more info" box, it SAYS the tracker is reporting at least 30 seeders. I am even seeding off an alternate network that is configured fine, so I know that it is not an outside issue.

So what could be causing this? transmission realizes there are many peers, but it is ignoring them? I do not have any IP addresses blocked, etc :/

The only unique thing about it is; it is a private tracker that the thing fails on. AKA, the tracker is "http://super-secret-website.fake/announce.php?passkey=MY-PASSKEY"; it says it has at least 30 seeders that the tracker reports; transmission is NOT wanting to connect to them though...
I also have non-private torrents added; is that a possible bug that conflicts with PEX etc? PEX is disabled on private trackers, and maybe because PEX is enabled on the public torrents, that it is a bug that also keeps it enabled on the private ones (hence not letting you connect to peers who have PEX off)?

I hope someone can help me fix this problem, it is a major concern to me :) Thanks.

Edit: I think it is an issue with the webui/daemon problem ONLY. If I load a GUI Transmission, and load the exact same .torrents, it works fine. :/ It also works fine if I open it in a different software, such as uTorrent.... :|

Hm, it appears to maybe be a problem with the amount of torrents on trackers I have.... I have ~175 torrents loaded into transmission-daemon. On -f, it says it is announcing and stuff to all these trackers, even though they are paused....I do not know if this may be causing a problem or not?

Edit: ran it --paused, hit run on only the private torrents....seems to be working right now. Is there some sort of connection limiter I may have accidentally installed into Ubuntu? In the settings.json it is set at 260.

Edit2: yeah, it must be some sort of connection limiter .... I am not even using close to 260 connections, and yet transmission is not connecting to peers still =( My router is not blocking or limiting the number of connections, nor is my transmission, and nor is my system (I think it isn't, at least?)
