Transmission Slow

Post by zurihongg »

Greetings all!

I have major problems with speed of my downloads. My MAC G5 OS 10.5.8 Proc. 2 x 3GHz + 7GB 667MHz Ram was getting great speeds about a week ago. Then all of a sudden, the transfer rate went down to about 1-2 KB/s per torrent.

I setup mac MacBook Pro with Transmission, and the download rates are lightning fast. 200+ kb/s So, I know it is not my IPS. I would use my MacBook but need it for work daily.

I am using a Time Capsule.

I don't know what else to do. I made sure my Automaticaly Map Port Box is checked and I have also tried restarting my mac numerous times.

Any help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help!!

I went through that article but to no avail. What is the T Port?

I have my Mac BookPro downloading as I am speaking at 300kb/s. My MAC G5 is at 4.6 KB/s. The funny thing is that I didn't change anything and 2 weeks ago it was working just fine.

Arrrggghhhh!

Again, thanks for any help someone out there can give me.

I also did the port forwarding on my time capsule and everything seems to be wroking fine. I am now uploading at around 16 kB/s. Not much of a difference though.....

x190 is right on the money. The "Slow Speeds" checklist works you through the most common problems... and if you make it to the bottom of the list and the cause still hasn't been found, it describes the information that the forum helpers need to help diagnose the problem.

Please go reread item #9 from the list.

If this has not been solved yet. It seems the problem is only occurring on Power PC macs, the Mac Mini G4 and (I think) a Power Mac G5. It may be a Power PC compatibility bug in Transmission 1.75

What is the point of this thread if nobody is going to report the information requested by the checklist? When you all post about what kind of Mac you have, do you think that's more helpful than the information that we've asked for?
