Transmission not as fast as it should

Hi guys,
I guess you've seen thousands topics about Transmission being slow.
I've looked everywhere, tried everything, but I can't get Transmission to work correctly.

Let me tell you:
1. My port is correctly opened.
2. My connexion is around 500kb/s down, and 50kb/s up.
3. My torrents are all "good" torrents: loads of seeders, leechers.
4. I do limit my upload rate to 40 kb/s.
5. I've tried with 10, 9, .... 3, 2, 1 active torrent, to see if it made a difference.
6. I did not forget the speed limit.

Transmission is slow.
Right now, I am dowloading around 70 kb/s, and uploading perfectly well at 40 kb/s. Sometimes, it just jumps to 200-500 kb/s for a minute, and then back to the slow thing.

My settings:
Global maximum connections: 300 peers
Maximum connection for new transfer: 90 peers

I did the slow speed list, but everything seems to be working correctly.

What am I doing wrong?

Exactly the same problem here

my settings are all good AFAIK but the speeds with transmission are not as fast as they should be

as a comparison i downloaded some iso's like slackware and open office (which i know will max out your connection) and they do when i tested it on a Vista laptop using Utorrent connecting to the same router, i was getting around 700kBps compared to 100-120KBps using transmission.


I really like transmission and not sure what to do..

Not only was Transmission really slow, but it did swallow my whole 550 kb/s connexion, even though I was only downloading between 50 and 70kb/s
Let me explain:
The 2 other computers on the network had only 18 kb/s left to go on the internet!!!
And, believe me or not, but when I tried to speed-limit Transmission to 0down-0up, the 2 other computers were still getting only around 20 kb/s... So Transmission was just making 450kb/s vanishing.
Where I do not know...

My answer is (and I'm sincerely sorry to say that ):
SWITCH TO AZUREUS.

Now, my rates are around 500kb/s with the exact same torrents/port.
And when an other computer goes on the internet, it takes what's left (So by limiting Vuze to 100kb/s, there are still 450 kb/s for the others).

This is exactly the issue I'm running into. I even set peers per torrent up to 200. In Transmission Remote (when it actually connects to the daemon) I have torrents showing 13925(15) Leechers. So it's not connecting to many peers.

I'm sure it's something I'm doing wrong, because I've seen posters on other forums talking about the speed they get with Transmission. I just can't seem to figure out what yet.

Going back to V 1.75 works better for me now i can max out my connection and it does not hog the internet for other users , there must be something going on with V 1.76..
