Moved a file during download

Post by cyclosity »

I paused a download and moved a large file to an external drive. How can I tell transmission where the file has moved to and continue the download from there?

Ok, at some point during the night, the download unpaused (WTF) not for very long, but long enough that I'm worried, because a new file was created on the desktop.

I deleted the new file... is it still ok to use the first method described here?

It's better to have Transmission move the torrent if you will still be sharing it since Transmission remembers where the new data is. You don't get progress bars but the data is indeed moved.

Delete the new data that was downloaded and instruct Transmission to move the data file to the new location on the old drive. If you don't delete the data, you may overwrite it.

A similar occurrence happened with me.

The External HD I use was disconnected improperly. When I re-connected it, My mac now recognized it and added a 1 to the name. I opened Transmission and it asked where the directory was for the file, but most was redownloading on my Internal HD in a folder inside Volumes Directory. Is there a way to mass Change the directories with out overwriting the files?
