1. I'd like to be able to tell Transmit to cancel the Speed Limit at a specific time. For example, if Speed Limit is active, but midnight rolls around, the limit is cancelled and things to back to normal speed. I'd want to be able to set the cancel time.
2. Or (similar thought) maybe have a way so the Speed Limit only sticks for an hour, and then resumes normal speed.
Can either of these be done in the existing software? I didn't see options for that. I'm going to play with the settings maybe see if reversing the speed limits will work, ie: "slow" in the normal settings and then the unlimited in the "Speed Limit" settings and set the activation times. I'll re-post if that works.
Schedule Speed Limit... reverse?
Re: Schedule Speed Limit... reverse?
A-ha! I've figured out something.
In the preferences, if I set the Global rates to the "slow" speeds, and then the Speed Limit to the "high" speeds, then I the Speed Limit system works in reverse. I can also use the schedule to turn on the Speed Limit feature (my new high speeds) at a certain time if not already activated. So, effectively, I've made my #1 point above work in the existing software. Woo!
Now, even though this is now working, it's a kludge. This should be an actual option in the user interface.
Thanks!
David

Re: Schedule Speed Limit... reverse?
You could just reverse the times. 6pm to 6am is the opposite of 6am to 6pm.
Re: Schedule Speed Limit... reverse?
Hmmm, not really what I meant... but it gave me another idea. If I put things back to normal (ie: global = fast, limit = slow) and then set the Speed Limit schedule for 11:30 PM - 11:31 PM (for example), then it automatically turns off the Speed Limit if it was on once the time turns 11:31 PM. I just tested this and it's working -- and it's a better solution than before. Sure, if Speed Limit is off then things slow down while it's on, but it's only for 1 minute per day.
So, it's still kludgy, but way less so than before. I consider this a good answer unless someone has something better. I hope this will help others out there.
Thanks!
