Working with 1.80b5, mac OS 10.6.2, wifi connection...
I am currently on a rented apartment network, so not my own, therefore I can't testify as to the router or type of connection, but for general activities the network seems fine and stable. In any case, the problem I have currently with this build of Transmission (although I observed the issue in b4 as well on the same network) is where for some seconds Transmission will work as normal and then it will mysteriously stop transferring, up or down. It's like being in a car and hitting the accelerator and then releasing - 30s on, 30s off, and repeat... What is more strange is that in the time when Transmissions send 0 data, the individual torrents show their connections (downloading or uploading) to peers, but no data moving on each individual torrent. It seems like something is getting stuck.
I can't do anything about the connection - can it be that the ISP or router throttles the connection, or is this a problem other people are seeing as well? Perhaps the software will work again as it should on another network, but right now I am stuck without a chance to do that kind of trouble shooting. Can anyone comment? Thanks in advance.
PS. In the off/0 data times, the network connection for the machine works absolutely fine so I don't think it's the connection.

I was too quick to post. Seems like I'm not the only one: http://forum.transmissionbt.com/viewtop ... 415#p43415

Re: stops and starts
I think I solved the problem. As the network is not my own, I only had entered only the router for DNS, as the ISP DNS was not being pushed. I tried adding open dns and voila, no more stalling. However, now overall network has slowed dramatically, like I experienced in some earlier betas.
I guess this was monologue then...hope it helped someone at least.
