Hi,
I'm currently looking for an alternative to Azureus/Vuze and Transmission would fit perfectly feature-wise but when I have Transmission running I see a very negative impact on my ssh sessions. They become laggy which makes working with them pretty annoying. I've tried throttling both upstream and downstream but that doesn't seem to change anything. Once I pause all torrents I no longer see the problem.
In Azureus/Vuze I limited my upstream to 60Kb/s and see no lag on my ssh connections.

I am also experiencing this issue, except instead of a degradation of my performance, I lose the ability to surf or access the outside net at all.Transmission seems to take precedence of my internet use. Any help is appreciate, and thank you all the Devs, excellent program.
Re: Transmission interferes with network performance
Umm I know this is kind of obvious, though you haven't stated it. You are sure that Transmission limits are set (well) below your bandwidth's ?
Torrent protocol is rather aggressive... I mean, it usually can drain any available bits you have there. Unfortunately don't want this to occur
when you're on the same connection. That is why setting appropriate limits is a first and the most crucial step to make sure it leaves necessary amount of bandwidth for normal internet services and stuff.

Yes. I set the values similar to Azureus/Vuze and have also set them lower to see if that helps but the problem persists.luk32 wrote:Umm I know this is kind of obvious, though you haven't stated it. You are sure that Transmission limits are set (well) below your bandwidth's ?
