Hi there,
I have set "Pause All" which does pause the torrens currently downloaded. Then if I put some torrent files to the folder to which transmission scans for torrent files, it starts downloading them, though I have set a "Pause All" before.
This should not be the behavior, right ? I am using 1.83 version.
"Pause All" does not affect torrents added later

I assume you have "start when added" selected in preferences?

That is true. But still I feel "Start When Added" should respect "Pause All".
Use case I have is I paused all torrents for some browsing speed, and then I downloaded some torrents into the folder from which transmission auto loads. Now currently transmission autoloads them and starts them immediately, while the other ones are paused, which is not what I expected, I thought they will be also in paused mode. This changes the order in which I am downloading also.

Pause all is an action to apply to existing transfers, not a state the app is in. To have it the way discussed above would confuse a lot of people. If you don't want torrents to start automatically, disable "start when added" in prefs.

If "Start When added" is disabled then it will be a pain to manually start torrents.
I dont think it will confuse users. As a user I am confused now, as I have enabled "Pause All" and torrents are getting downloaded. And I really did not want it to download now but after the one I am currently downloading.

You are the first to be confused - this has always been the behavior. Your behavior is definitely more confusing, I can promise you that. The use case of your scenario is quite obscure, and the exact opposite could definitely be argued.

The torrent client I used before ktorrent, arguably the best one I have used had the behavior I mentioned.
May be people are used to this behavior, I guess.

This argument isn't going to go anywhere. You have my response.
