[SOLVED] Blocklists

Post by calb »

Quick question with blocklists - regardless of either downloading or seeding a torrent - does it automatically prevent bad peers from connecting?

also runnning 10.6.2 - to add a list to transmission do you drop the list in library/application support/transmission?

thanks!

Depends on what you mean by bad peers. By default Transmission uses the bluetack level1 blocklist, the same tool used by PeerGuardian and PeerBlock.

Although there's not a GUI-visible way to do it, adding your own custom IP blocklists is pretty easy; for example, if you wanted to add the level2 blocklist. http://trac.transmissionbt.com/wiki/Blocklists
