Solved my Slow Leopard death issue

Post by molestrangler »

I finally noticed there was a transmission message log with debug, error & info lists. The 'Error' list showed that I that I have 59 transfers with the following error:

2010-03-06 16:57:02 +0400 torrent.c:343 [Error] xxxxxxxxxxxxx: Tracker error: "xxxxxxxx: unregistered torrent"

I paused all these problem torrents and Transmission has been running for the three hours, before my Mac would consistently die after 10 to 15 mins. I can only assume the original tracker URL or what ever was last deleted or went away. Not sure why this would cause my Mac to completely die.

Useful thing the message log, I never seen it before!! I was looking in Console for useful messages but never found anything, never thought there would be its own logging.

I still like the idea of using a Ubuntu virtual machine pointing to my torrent folder. Already compiled 1.91 with no problems and its up and running. I think i've figured out how to tx the torrent list from Leopard into Ubuntu, just have to work out why Fusion 3.02 folder sharing is not working as it should.
