It will be a long story about battle me vs transmission.
When I first installed transmission on my mac os 10.6.2 it was downloading and uploading, everything seemed to be ok, except some stops - that was because of the downloading place - the same hdd where my system was installed. Thats why I decided to buy a NAS from WD.
Transmission refused to download there (was writing "remanning time unknown"). That's why I returned WD NAS to dealer and changed it for an external usb drive 1.5 TB from seagate. This one.
The most interesting is starting from here.
I decided to start downloading from 1 torrent. It was downloading with speed of 600-700 kbyte / sec. When the client was writing data to hdd drive the first bug has happened - transmission stopped for a while and then showed the speed of 5 mbytes - it is impossible - my channel width is 1 mbyte.
That has repeated several times but, some time later transmission completely stopped mac os!! Internet access disappeared first, then most programs stopped, after closing them from cmd+option+Esc and restarting finder nothing happened. The system was dead.
After rebooting this repeated more and more.
I changed destination folder to my system disk and everything repeated. You see the difference? System was just slowing down two weeks ago and now in dies.
So,thats the situation.
What was done.
1) I've scanned a usb hdd with TechToolPro - everything is OK
2) In russian LJ community there was an opinion that this was caused by little snitch and istat menus, but their deinstalling nothing gave.
3) I've created a new mac os user, but everything seemed to be the same.
Resume
IMHO, the problem is somewhere in mac os, cause transmission used to work without death. What can you recommend to check?
P.S. Sorry for my bad English(
[LOCKED DUPLICATE] Transmission 1.91 kills Mac os 10.6.2
Re: Transmission 1.91 kills Mac os 10.6.2 Snow Leo.
As I understood that topic about 1.34. I think a lot of issues were fix since that, so it's better to download 1.91
Re: Transmission 1.91 kills Mac os 10.6.2 Snow Leo.

Now, to me that seems like something that might be useful in the other thread.Nos'ok wrote:Installation of latest version from that site helped
