Harddrive recently crashed and needed a complete system restore. I had many large torrents backed up on DVDs and others on an external drive.
I know that the data is 100% unchanged and unmodified. Is there any way to insert those files back "into the stream" so I can start seeding them again?
How would I go about telling Transmission "I have the data, don't download it again. Just reseed what I do have."
I have the files, I want to seed!
Re: I have the files, I want to seed!
First of all you have to take back your original files. Then follow this go to Transmission select preferences and then select transfer and then adding. Please select your download location which will be same as original torrent file. Then you can easily seed your files. it will seed.

Re: I have the files, I want to seed!
I added the .torrent to Transmission, paused it and right clicked it, went for "Set Location..." and chose the folder where the full file was. Then I clicked the "Verify Local Data" option, and Transmission checked the file and was able to start seeding. No idea if the first step is necessary, but I hope it's helpful anyway.
