Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.

Alternatively, you may set the environment variables LIBEVENT_CFLAGS
and LIBEVENT_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.
See the pkg-config man page for more details.

You'll need to install libevent 2.0.10 or higher in order to run Transmission 2.20 or higher.

If CentOS doesn't have RPMs for libevent2, you'll have to build from source @ http://www.monkey.org/~provos/libevent/

Thank you sir for fast replay, I tried this

Code: Select all

[root@server home]# yum install libevent
Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, protectbase
Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile
 * addons: mirror.rackspace.com
 * base: mirror.batblue.com
 * extras: mirror.ash.fastserv.com
 * updates: mirror.rackspace.com
0 packages excluded due to repository protections
Setting up Install Process
Package libevent-1.4.13-1.i386 already installed and latest version
Nothing to do
[root@server home]#
then i downloaded from source

wget http://www.monkey.org/~provos/libevent- ... ble.tar.gz
tar xf libevent-2.0.10-stable.tar.gz
cd libevent-2.0.10-stable
./configure
make
make install

but still it shows old version libevent-1.4.13-1.i386
Plz any help?

Thanks
