How to set schedule time for Off peak download?

Post by SirBOB »

Hi ALL,

I want to be able to schedule downloads in Off peak times so they don't count towards my ISP's Monthly download limit. I didn't see this functionality in Transmission v2.22 installed for QNAP TS-439.

How do I setup scheduling of download in Off peak times with Transmission v2.22 and QNAP TS-439 NAS?

you can use transmission-remote (see man transmission-remote, or transmission-remote --help) but probably easiest way is use the web-client:

Click Gearbox icon at bottom left of web-interface > Preferences > Speed Tab

and fill in and Save. it looks like this:

Hi gunzip or anyone,

I set the 'Schedule Times' from the Transmission Web Interface, but somehow it doesn't work. The client still downloading, I already tried to Stop/Start the Transmission service from the 'Transmission Admin Center'. I also observed that Stop/Start Application in the Transmission Admin Center doesn't work.

The Preferences also wasn't save, when I restart my NAS which hosted the TransmissionBT, the saved settings for 'Scheduled Times' went back to default values. BTW, I shutdown my NAS to move it to another side of the room.

SirBOB, from screenshot your Download Rate is unchecked and set to 0, which means Unlimited download speed. that's not what you want.

try changing it from 0 to 1, and make sure Download Rate is CHECKED.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH gunzip! At first I didn't get what you want to convey. At least I limit the download during my ISP's peak hours to only 1Kb/s, whilst during off-peak I can set the Scheduled Times DL Rate to >1000Kb/s.
