how to upgrade transmission on a VPS (centOS)

Transmission 2.12 is installed on CentOS 5 32bit on a VPS.

Transmission was installed by my brother, unfortunately he passed away in a accident . I am a noob who is just trying to keep his brother's passion alive.

As i am having seeding issue ( viewtopic.php?f=2&t=11649 ), i am trying to upgrade the transmission to 2.30b4... Please, guide me to upgrade the transmission.

still, can't find how to upgrade the transmission.... searched a lot can find how to install... but can't find how to upgrade.... any help will be greatly appreciated.
