I'm using Transmission 2.03 on Debian Squeeze. And because I don't want to mess up the packaging system I would rather like to stick with the version from the Debian main sources instead of updating to the most recent Transmission version.
When I installed squeeze Transmission worked fine, but after a few weeks (with increasing router-problems) it stopped being able to connect to the network again. I can't find any port that works.
What should I check to find out more about why transmission can't get any network connection any more? To me it looks like there is no working port left because I tried many and the random port option didn't help as well.
Maybe I didn't search for the best terms but I wasn't able to find a solution so far. Neither in the manual, nor in the documentation nor on this board...
I would be grateful for any useful pointer...

Re: how to find an open port
Thank you for your reply.
Mainly because the connecting problem didn't come at a specific point in time, but was introduced by preceeding difficulties, I have the impression it shouldn't be a ISP problem. At least I think it's a hint why it didn't start as such...
The firewall is a different story, but on the other hand I didn't change the software on my router and I guess this is the weakest point in my setup because in the beginning I could solve connecting problems by rebooting my router. Unfortunately that doesn't help any more.
I didn't change anything in my setup, but maybe the normal Debian updates caused a different behaviour. I think I will search for a Debian reason next...
