Hello,
I've been using Transmission for years, but since a couple of days, internet stops working when I download torrents with Transmission. Actually, all computers on my home network can't load internet pages while I use Transmission. I have no clue why this is happening, like I said I've been using Transmission for so long with no problem at all.
I tried to limit bandwith and the number of peer connections, but that hasn't solved anything.
Any idea / help ?

Re: Internet stops working when using Transmission
AM I the only one having this problem ? I can't explain why it happened all of a sudden.
I updated Transmission to 2.76, then I started to have those problems. I went back to 2.75, but it hasn't changed the problem.
I use the latest version of Mac OS X, Transmission, Firefox, Safari, and Google Chrome (same problem on all three browsers when downloading torrent with Transmission)

Re: Internet stops working when using Transmission
I'm having a similar problem.
I'm using Ubuntu Studio v12.10 and Transmission v2.61. I don't have any hibernation or suspend set up - I've turned them off.
While I'm running Transmission, if I use the PC, I keep my internet connection. Even if I'm not using a browser or any other internet program. As long as I use the PC, for anything, the internet connection stays up.
If I stop using the PC (I haven't determined how long is required for this effect, I just know that hours later, this is true.), after an undertermined length of time, my PC loses its wireless connection to my router and can't get it back unless I reboot. In addition, Ubuntu Studio won't shut down correctly (it hangs), forcing me to reset the PC. Once that is done, I have my wireless connection again.
None of this happens if Transmission is not running.

Re: Internet stops working when using Transmission
Update: Seems I can avoid the loss of my internet connection and keep transmission running if I turn off the screen hibernation and shut-off settings. For some reason, that allowed my internet connection to remain and transmission to run overnight. Too weird.
Re: Internet stops working when using Transmission
Update (again): But, it didn't last. The very next day, I lost internet connection again.

Re: Internet stops working when using Transmission
Try disabling DHT and uTP and see if that makes any difference.

Re: Internet stops working when using Transmission
I have the same problem. first I thought to be a conection problem, but when i run transmission while using firefox, the latter stop loading pages (even if there is no leechin or seeding). if I quit from transmission and reload the page on firefox, it does without any trouble.
hope you can help.

Re: Internet stops working when using Transmission
I thought I was alone but the same happens to me. Its random but when I have transmission downloading something, sometimes the connection will periodically go out for about a minute. Weird thing is, it seems to only affect what I'm using for transmission from what I gather
Re: Internet stops working when using Transmission
I have the same Problem.
Running on Mac OSX 10.8.2
I have turned the options mentioned before, and nothing seems to resolve this issue.
Does anyone know if a ticket has been opened for this?
