i have tranmission and acquisition need help

i have just downloaded transmission on the mac but i already have acquisition that i cant seem to find how to uninstal, everytime i try to download something it comes up in aqusition instead. if i cant uninstall it is there a way i can direct the torrents to transmission instead?
