Prompted to donate even though I already did

Hi,

How come I'm being prompted to donate when I launch Transmission even though I donated only a month ago? Should I enter something somewhere to get rid of that dialogue? I have got other share ware that stops prompting as soon as you've donated and I assume that's how it should be, right?

I know this is not a major issue but still a bit annoying

Transmission doesn't prompt to donate, you must be running something else, or an modified version done by someone else.

Also: Transmission is not shareware.

You're right, the term is freeware (but with the right to donate

But I do get prompted to donate every now and then when I launch Transmission.

I think it's perfectly fair to donate (that's why I did it), only I don't think I should be prompted to donate again and again when I already did.

Again, Transmission doesn't prompt to donate.

The only prompt I know about is the one on first run, where it says "Transmission is a file sharing program. When you run a torrent, its data will be made available to others by means of upload. Any content you share is your sole responsibility." That one will not appear again, or to be precise, shouldn't appear again, unless the application has problems saving its settings.

The point is: what do you have installed? and, from where?

Can tell us what OS (and distro if Linux) you are running?
Can you post a screen shot of the donate prompt?

@x190 I think you're on to something I'm on Mac OS Mountain Lion.
Would you be able to give me the path to Transmissions .plist

I've looked for it in
/Users/myaccount/Library/Preferences
and
Users/myaccount/Library/Application Support/Transmission
and
/Library/Preferences
and
/Applications/Transmission.app/Contents

In the Transmission Package Contents I found "Info.plist" but I guess that's not the right one...

Sorry, I'm not a dev so I don't understand a 100% but it's still good to know that you confirm that this Donate prompt feature is indeed present in the Mac client.
I've been trying to reproduce it now several times but of course it doesn't appear when I'm launching now (only because I want it too However, I think it's after every installation of update that this dialog box appears now that I think about it. Could that be the case?

I sure don't want to waste everybody's time with this minor issue. I just thought this prompt behavior was a bit weird (since I had donated). There might be a "Do not ask me again" button but I was afraid I would get punished with low speed if I pressed it

I have an example with a similar scenario with the app "Trash It!". Before I donated there was a prompt to donate but once I had donated the dialog switched to "Thanks for using Trash It!

Edited with Xcode I set the donate warning to NO now. And I'm really pleased the date of the last donate warning was there as well to prove I'm not completely blond (well, only my hair is
