Advanced Schedule for Speed Limit

Post by tngilbert1s »

Just started using Transmission - so far it’s a great app and I really like the speed limit functionality.

It doesn’t do everything I want however though. I want this:

Weekdays
1. Disable Speed Limit @ 12AM to 5AM
2. Enable Speed Limit @ 5AM to 8AM
3. Disable Speed limit @ 8AM to 5PM
4. Enable Speed Limit @ 5PM to 12AM
5. Repeat

Weekends:
1. Disable Speed Limit @ 12AM to 5AM
2. Enable Speed Limit @ 5AM to 12AM
3. Repeat

Is this schedule monitoring an XML file I could modify to do that?

Could I set iCal to run a script that would toggle speed limit? I have never written a script before so I wouldn’t know where to start. Is there a simple applescript out there already that just toggles it? I think that’s all I would need.

I bought a Mac Mini dedicated to be a torrent/plex server - and its working great! But that would make it ideal.

Im loving the setup - I use a DropBox (getdropbox.com) to have a shared torrent folder and have Transmission monitoring it to auto-add the torrents - then Growl setup with MailMe so it lets me know when they are done (friggen awesome!).

I'm bumping this thread because this feature would be great!
I need scheduler that could be set to download mon-fri 00-16h and sat-sun 00-08h
basically you should only copy scheduler features from QNAPs "download station" DL manager...

I know this post is very, very old, but does this exist yet?
