Port forwarding gone since update

Post by Aardman »

I'm not real savvy with this stuff but I looked around here to see if anybody has posted something relevant, and I didn't find anything so here goes.

Ever since I upgraded to 2.92 my peer listening port has remained yellow with the notice "Port check site is down."

I use PIA as a VPN and they have several gateways with open ports. I assumed something was wrong on their end but when I changed gateways (and ports) the problem persisted. A bit of time with their tech revealed that all their ports are open and working.

I did not download or install any Transmission update over the crucial time period when the malware was available, so I'm somewhat dismissive that possibly this is related to those recent problems, but for the life of me I can't figure out why this has started happening. All my speeds have reduced significantly since the update and I figure it's because of the port forwarding problems. This all started with the updated version.

I'm still running 2.8.4 and I too am having the same exact issue. So it's not related to an update.

Was a DNS misconfiguration issue, fixed and should start working in a bit.
