Obviously, you didn't. Otherwise you wouldn't be asking that question:

There are no clear conclusions or solutions to the problem everyone is having posted anywhere in this thread. I did happen to ask a question that was already asked. Not a big deal, get over it.

I'm curious about WHEN these problems started happening. For me, it was directly after my automatic update. Ever since I haven't been getting a decent upload speed and my computer has been "unable to check port status".
Is that the case for anyone else?

You guys have to keep in mind that the error is not really Transmission itself (as a program) but the tool that Transmission uses to check the port. If your port was originally closed it will remain closed (not like the error is affecting your speed). If your port was originally open then it should still be open.
If, for some reason, you are itchy to know your port status you can always check this website
http://www.canyouseeme.org/
Again,
don't get confused thinking that this error is blocking your port.
At least on my side I do get the message (Unable to check port) it
but my speeds are as good as they were before.

It is affecting my downloading speed. I have 42 or more peers available in a download, but it is only getting 1, 2 no more than 4, and the speed is 0 or no more than 17 kB, some times.
I was having much better speed before.
Does anyone knows another torrent software, besides transmision, bittorrent, tomato, or azureus ?

The port status not displaying is a result of the website used to check port status not returning a response. This is fixed in the nightlies and has absolutely zero impact on anything besides the message displayed.

Transmission blows those other clients away. Completely the best for Mac.

Still unable to check status for me. My uploads are really sucking but the port says its open on canyouseeme.org. I'm utterly confused, while my list is getting huge.

I've got the same problem and it's not downloading at all now!! Have checked at canyouseeme.org and port is open, ISP not blocking. However, my ISP is Virgin Media and I have heard that there are some problems with them. In fact, my download speed has always been quite slow (and is now 0). Can anyone help? Sorry, I'm pretty new to this. I'm on a MacBook running OS 10.5.4. Thanks in advance!

Actually, don't worry - I seem to have temporarily solved the problem. Help page advised me to check the box for ignoring unencrypted peers and this stopped everything! Have unchecked it now but download speed is still really low so would appreciate any advice on speeding this up. Thanks.

The real strange thing is I'm downloading just fine and I am able to to upload while I'm downloading but once the download is complete it stops uploading all together. I'm really confused and am debating on using a diff BT client.
port status remains yellow

I experience exactly the same problem since I uploaded the Transmission latest update. Before I had always the green light meaning port is opened.
I use an IMac with Leopard latest version together with Time Capsule as a router and back up linked to Time Machine. I checked my port with can you see me and the answer was positive. So what ? Could a Transmission technical guy give me the reason of this change?
Thanks
