The "Unable to check port status" issue has nothing to do with any of this.

When you open your car door, the light goes on. If the light breaks, it has nothing to do with whether your car door is actually open, or whether there's some other problem. The same is true here.

@jpp47: Your port is open. The light in Transmission 1.22 is broken, but it has nothing to do with whether your port is actually open.

@Remy1985: Your port is open. The light in Transmission 1.22 is broken, but it has nothing to do with whether there's some other problem. If you feel you're experiencing strange behavior, one thing is sure: it has nothing to do with the port status light.

Furthermore, the behavior you've described is not so strange. There is no guarantee you will upload forever, or upload at all. If your port is open, there's not much more you can do about it.

I have already given the reasoning for this. This thread has gotten redundant with people refusing to read previous posts.

issue with port: says Cannot See your Service

Hello,

I've been trying to forward my port as well. My port is definitely not open. I've not been able to seed at all. I did while uploading some days ago. now it won't seed whether i'm downloading or after completing my download. i used to see my username as a seeder (but not uploading) a while ago, but now i don't even see myself as that!

this is the error i get in canyouseme.org:
Error: I could not see your service on 74.77.154.111 on port (51413)
Reason: Connection timed out

it also says Your IP: 74.77.154.111
what does that mean? i set my static IP as 192.168.1.4

I'm new to this (and new user) and my head is beginning to get heavy!!

any suggestion? thanks

That isn't related to this topic. Please look up for the built-in help within Transmission.

Good analogy. Too bad none of the people who need it will ever read it ;)

What is the point of "threatening" to use another client? The developers gave you this outstanding app for free. Who cares if you use another client? It's your loss, dude.

alright... so i don't actually know how to ask the question that will give me the answer i am looking for... i understand that the port check site has nothing to do with whether or not the port is actually open or closed... what i do understand is that when i have transmission open downloads/uploads work for half a second... and then everything stops... i may gain a couple of peers but none that i am actually downloading from or uploading to... and as soon as that happens my internet stops working as well... i have looked through the built in help in transmission... i've searched forums... and still i have no idea how to make any of this work... especially since my room mates are using transmission on the same network and everything is working for them... and they can't explain it either... can anybody point me in the right direction to ask the right question?... i am lost
