Limiting Active downloads

Is it possible to limit the number of active downloads, i.e. only download 3 torrents at a time?

BTW, I am using: Transmission 2.04 (11151) on Linux.

not directly in the linux version (unless it's been added very recently, which i guess it hasn't or you wouldn't be asking). someone made a script to do something along those lines - search the forum for queueing in linux.
