Pausing torrent temporarily pauses all of them

Post by demosthene »

Hey,

This has been happening for a while but I never tried to ask. Lots of times, I pause a torrent, and when that happens, all activity stops and then restarts. So it takes a bit of time to get the speed back.

When a torrent is paused, its status is written to the .resume file, the trackers are announced to, and the peer connections are closed. If you're pausing too many torrents at once, Transmission will lag and block until those finish.

Rolcol,

Even if I have 2 torrents, and I pause the 2nd one, the 1st peer connections seem closed and it needs to start over. Pretty frustrating. :)

Same thing here. Not all the time but a pain when it happens. Waiting a reasonable amount of time does no good. Will not quit when this happens, have to force quit but does not re-check files when reopened.

yeah I'm not sure. It's an Time Capsule. It doesn't seem to happen all the time but quite often, even if I only have a few torrents and remove some. I mean if when those torrents are active and maybe it's at some limit, removing or pausing one should cut connections for others? :)
