I have this problem with your current 2.22 version: I am missing the local data verification option that you've decided to remove in version 2.22.
You see I have a limited internet connection and usually I ask some of my friends to download some file for me. Few months ago I noticed that a file that he downloaded for me was kind of damaged. He uses microsoft windows and utorrent (micro torrent). Wheather the fault was in his internet connection or the utorrent itself is not really relevant.
Then I realized that I can download the torrent file in transmission, freeze the download, shut down transmission, copy the file downloaded by my friend in the directory where transmission would start downloading the newly added torrent, add "part" extension to it and restart transmission. Transmission would than start verifying the file downloaded from my friend, find the damaged parts and redownload them. So from a 2.2GB file I would need to download max 10MB in order to fix the file. Now you decided to remove that option. There is no way i can make transmission do this little trick for me and spare me from redownloading the whole file.
Is there a possibility to reconsider the local data verification removal in a future version of Transmission? I really really miss this valuable functionality.

You can still manually tell it to verify data.

Didn't know that I could.
Anyway, I tried verifying data manually, the trick is not working. So can local data verification be brought back please?

Re: Bring back verifying local data when adding torrents!
As far as I understand it, right now if I download a torrent partially, then make a backup of a partially downloaded torrent and reinstall the system (clean reinstall), I cannot resume the download of the backed up partial download. Where as in the previous version I could. A clear regression in Transmission's capabilities. And I'm not sure why the auto verification on startup was removed in the first place. It lasted only few seconds. I really need to hear the reasoning behind this removal.
