I occasionally get torrent files that do not have the ".torrent" extension. If I right click on the file in dolphin, it recognises that it's a torrent file and offers me appropriate options (like transmission). The Linux file command recognises it as well. However, if I click on the Open A Torrent icon in transmission, the file does not appear as a choice.
Obviously, this is a small deficiency with several workarounds, but it would be nice to have it "fixed"/improved if someone needs to work on that part of the code base for something more important.
TIA

Re: Recognize torrent files by file type
Is there a "filter" to only show .torrent files (drop-down combo box somewhere)? And if so can you set it to "all"?
Effectively all programs that have a filtering on the open-file dialog have the option to set it to "all".

Thanks. Yes, there is. I didn't notice it before. That makes it work, but it also shows me other things in the directory that are not torrents. It would still be nicer if it knew about files by types.
