automatically put parts together?

Right now I use unrarx to put the parts back together after receiving a file. It's a bit tedious to watch the parts being assembled, especially if I have several files, so I'm winding if there is an automated way to handle this? unrarx does not appear to support watch directories so I assume transmission would have to call unrarx to put it all back together. Is this possible?

I read through that thread and to be honest I don't think it is realistic for the average user. Programs such as Unison are able to download files in parts and patch them together without users having to resort to unix scripting. I think that Transmission should provide similar functionality. Perhaps in a future update?
