Hi
It seems that whenever I am downloading torrents, I cant log in to steam (or one or the other stops what its doing or hangs or both hang). I have to play offline every time.
I am not sure if this is the issue on transmission's side or steam's side (or my side) so if anyone here can figure it out, then please forward this to the correct party. I am posting this on both forums.
It does not interfere with regular internet browsing.
In my case I am running:
Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3
Steam
Portal 2 (The Game) and Football Manager 2012
Transmission 2.50
Please email me if there are any further questions and/or solutions. arjuntemurnikano@gmail.com

Re: transmission interfering with steam games
Thanks for the reply x190!
When I go to speedtest.net, it shows dl speed ~ 45 mbps and ul speed 46 mbps. (That should be way more than enough I presume?)
Transmission was set to max 9999 kbps dl and ul.
I have changed it to 999 dl and ul
--- test downloading 1 torrent (currently running ~ 80 dl/0 ul)
--- restarting steam..
--- connection failed. "It seems you are not connected to the internet or steam is not configured for your network."
--- changed it to 99 dl and ul
--- testing..
--- no luck
--- quitting transmission
--- restarting steam
--- still no luck? What happened?
--- quitting google chrome
--- restarting steam.. SUCCESS!
??
--- restarting transmission with no torrent loaded
--- restarting steam.. works
--- loading test torrent again.. (running at ~100 dl and ul)
--- restarting steam.. works again
?? I am confused?
Any enlightenment is welcome.
